Ben’s been apartment hunting in Portland for a hopeful move in July, so we’ve been getting our fill of foodventures this month. I had film to drop off in St. John’s last weekend which finally led us to giving pork chops on a stick a shot. I mean, it’s not like anyone had to twist our arms or anything.
All I can say is… I have nothing to say. First, let it be known that corndogs disgust me, and I’ve never really been a popsicle kind of girl. And yet, the offerings of Stick-It left both Ben and me totally speechless.
Never have I savored anything as I did that baby chop. Coming from a girl who can spend an entire afternoon drinking one can of soda, that’s saying a lot, but any prior ideas I had about what made a hunk of meat worth gnawing on were rewritten on that day.
First, all future attempts at cooking meat at home will not be done without marinades. Second, I have to figure out how to cook food over an open flame in my apartment without taking the whole building down with me. Last, but not least, food on a stick is funner than frick to eat!
Stick-It is just down the street from Blue Moon, where I get my film developed. I have no idea how I’ll keep this treat a treat, especially since I’m going back this Saturday to pick up 5 (!!!) rolls of film. Heaven help me.
