The Tree House

September 20, 2010

The second half of our time at Humboldt State was spent living in “the Tree House,” the self-appointed name for my friend’s giant house on the highest hill in Arcata. We lived there with her, two other gals and three other kitties.

Probably the best living situation we’ve ever had. From the avocado green furniture, dainty white curtains and long shag carpet to the redwood forest in our backyard, it always felt like we were staying at grandma’s house.

These are some photos I snapped from around the house during my last semester at HSU and just recently got developed. Getting that roll of film back was like Christmas in the summertime!

Camera: Pentax K-1000
Lens: Vivitar 24mm f/2.8
Film: Kodak T-MAX 100

These pictures are lovely, they have such a nice feeling to them! I’m getting a black & white film developed soon as well, can’t wait for it :)

Words cannot express how much I love the DoF

great lighting, kim! love the tones :)

I love, love, love the Tree House! It looks like it’s the epitome of cozy! The living room furniture and wall art are just too legit. :)

Lovely photos… Did you have a perspectiv control lens?

Thank you! I wish I had a PC lens, but at $2000 I think it’ll have to stay in the dreams for a while, haha. In the meantime I fake it in Photoshop. :)
