CAMP NAMANU WEDDING
Towards the end of this summer the Columbia River Gorge was ravaged by fires that sent a lot of couples scrambling for backup plans. Luckily for this rambunctious gang of folks, Camp Namanu outside of Sandy, OR was spared — but only just barely. A heavy haze hung over the treeline throughout the weekend, and many suffered from dry throats and other maladies brought on by the polluted air, but we managed to find beauty in it as the smoke filtered sunshine lead to an eerily beautiful cast of warmth at sunset.
I remember hearing about Lara’s plans for her and Kinsey’s wedding long before a date had actually been set. I was impressed by her dedication to DIY all the things, including the shibori table runners and hand painted shells. Natural disasters aside, this day came together perfectly with a bounty of laughter and tenderness. I’m so happy that we got to see their vision unfold in a blaze of glory.
